As the successor to the popular MX300 SSD, the Crucial MX500 offers more performance and the usual good features. Equipped with 64-layer 3D NAND memory, the SSD promises greater durability and better performance. The controller used by Silicon Motion (SM2258) with four memory channels is not unknown and is used in many mainstream SSDs. Integrated hardware encryption also ensures the protection of your data.

Dynamic Write Acceleration through SLC cache

The Crucial MX500 achieves read speeds of up to 560 MB/s and write speeds of up to 510 MB/s for all file types (95,000 and 90,000 IOPS for random access, respectively). To increase performance, the SSD is equipped with an SLC cache. Thanks to this dynamic write acceleration, faster save processes and file transfers are possible, which ultimately benefits your entire system.

Modern encryption methods

The Crucial MX500 is equipped with the latest hardware-based encryption. So with support for AES-256, TCG Opal 2.0 and Microsoft eDrivee from Microsoft, you can rest easy knowing your data is protected at all times.

3D NAND flash memory

With 3D-NAND (also called V-NAND or 3D V-NAND), the transistors are vertical to the chip surface and the flash memory cells are arranged in layers one above the other. This achieves a higher storage density and at the same time reduces the risk of interference between the cells. Thanks to the shortened connections between the cells, the electrical output increases and, as a result, the power consumption decreases.
